1. Be Prepared

The famous phrase ‘fail to plan, prepare to fail’ is certainly true when it comes to upcycling. You want to ensure that you have all the right equipment for the job, in order for all your hard work to not go to waste. If you research well, you’ll discover which tools are better than others as even the littlest things like the quality of the paintbrush can completely change the overall finish of your upcycled project.

Once you have all the best tools, make sure you prepare the space you’ll be completing your project in. It should be a clean, dry and well protected space. You may have spotted an expensive piece of vintage furniture in a high street or designer shop that you think would look great in your home, however it’s likely that you will find a very similar version in a charity shop or from a car boot sale. Although it may not look identical, you can certainly transform it to look even better with a lick of paint and a lot of love, for a fraction of the price.
