Ingenious Upcycles You Can Try
Not all of us are as handy as we would like to be, but that’s the joy of upcycling. You can turn a piece of furniture that was once incredibly loved, into something that has a whole new lease of life.
You don’t need to be the best at DIY or the most perfect when painting because as April is National Home Improvement Month, everybody can get involved in improving parts of their home. Check out four of our best ways to upcycle:
- 1. Wallpaper Drawers
If you want to redecorate your home but don’t want to get rid of your existing furniture that doesn’t quite match, then why not try this impressive wallpaper technique. - 2. Ladder Garden
If you are short for space in your garden, you can still create a great green area. Old wooden ladders are perfect for this as they allow for plants to be stacked as opposed to spread across a garden. Either leave them their natural colour to blend in with your garden or paint them bright to make a statement garden piece.
3. Boxes as Shelves
Everybody has old wooden boxes lying around and if you don’t, they are incredibly easy to get a hold of. With a bit of elbow grease and a lick of paint you can transform these old boxes into super handy stackable shelving.
- 4. Bicycle Wheel Clocks
Old bikes can be left sitting in garages for quite some time, and if this is you then we’ve got a great way of changing that. Remove the wheel from the bike and add on spray painted brass house numbers and an old clocks mechanism and you’ve got yourself a creative, industrial looking style clock for the wall of your home.
